NS3041 Comparative Economic Systems

An examination of the economic systems and development problems in developing countries, including post-communist states. The course focuses on the political and ideological bases of economic organizations, and the nature of basic economic problems in these regions. Special attention is given to the socio-economic strategies and tactics used in the management of the economy, and institutions and techniques of decision making. Attention is also given to problems of economic stabilization in the developing world. PREREQUISITE: None.
