EC4510 Cellular Communication

This course presents the fundamentals of cellular communications. Cellular architectures, propagation models, modulation formats, diversity techniques, equalization, error control, multiple access techniques, networking, and standards such as AMPS, N-AMPS, IS-54, GSM, and IS-95 are covered.

Prerequisite

May be taken concurrently with EC3510.

·       Evaluate co-channel interference, optimize sectoring and channel allocation to users.

·       Propagation models for all eligible cellular frequency bands.

·       Link design for 4G and 5G.

·       Analysis of single user MIMO for 4G and massive MIMO for 5G.

·       Design localization techniques for 4G and 5G OFDM/OFDMA signals.
