ME4812 Fluid Power Control

Fluids and fluid flows in high-performance actuators and controllers. Power flow and fluid power elements, valve and pump control, linear and rotary motion. State space descriptions. Design of electro-hydraulic position and velocity control servo-mechanisms for high performance with stability.

At the completion of the course students will be able to:

  • Coordinate systems and transformations.
  • Gimbaled and Strapdown IMU and principles of inertial sensors.
  • Inertial navigation and its limitations.
  • Covariance analysis of linear systems driven by white noise.
  • Position fixes: LORAN, GPS, etc.
  • Complementary and Kalman filter design techniques.
