6.6.7 Extended Absences

When a student is absent for a significant portion of the term due to medical reasons, military duties, family tragedy, or other extenuating circumstances, the student's academic record may be updated to reflect a grade of "W" for the affected course(s) and/or term. Such withdrawals must be requested by the academic unit and approved by the Vice Provost for Academic Affairs, or designee.
