6.6.4 Withdrawal from a Course

A grade will be recorded for every course in which a student is registered. If a student withdraws from a course after the drop deadline, a grade of "W'' will be assigned if the instructor considers the student to have been passing at the time of withdrawal, or a grade of "X'' if the student was failing. A grade of "W'' will not affect the student's academic standing. A grade of "W'' will not be assigned after the withdrawal deadline, except in cases of extended absence as outlined in policy 6.6.7.
