EC2500 Communications Systems

In this first course on the electrical transmission of signals, the theory, design, and operation of analog and digital communication systems are investigated. Included are A/D conversion, modulation, demodulation, frequency-division multiplexing, and time-division multiplexing.

Course Learning Outcomes

·       To obtain an understanding of the time and frequency descriptions of analog and digital messages in communications.

·       To understand sampling and pulse modulation which may occur prior to message transmission.

·       To understand the time and frequency descriptions of amplitude and angle modulation and the implementation of modulators, demodulators, and waveform recovery techniques.
