CY3200 Cyberspace Operations Fundamentals
Nation state militaries, agencies or proxies use cyberspace operations as a component of conflict or warfare for political utility or competitive advantage. It is critical for the warfighter to understand, analyze, and evaluate cyberspace operations and the employment of cyber capabilities to achieve objectives in or through cyberspace. This course examines the fundamentals of cyberspace operations. Topical areas covered in this course include: governance, risk assessment, protecting security assets, cryptography and cryptographic applications (PKI), security models and design, security vulnerabilities, threats, and countermeasures, secure network architecture and securing network terrain, secure communications and network attacks, managing identity and authentication, access control and monitoring, security assessment and testing (penetration testing), managing security operations, and preventing and responding to incidents.
