CS2000 Introduction to Computer Systems

The objective of this course is to introduce foundational concepts from computing systems by constructing a general-purpose computer system from the ground up. By integrating algorithms, computer architecture, operating systems, and compilers through hands-on projects, the course will explore hardware and software design techniques and balancing tradeoffs between competing design constraints. Students will learn about the engineering of systems across many levels of abstraction, from digital logic to software design.
