OS3603 Simulation and War Gaming

This course introduces students to systemic and interactive wargame simulation models. The students will understand and play two interactive wargames and will run an existing systemic combat model to conduct output and sensitivity analyses on the results. Basic topics include measures of effectiveness, Monte Carlo processes for generating simulation events, decision and utility models, high resolution versus aggregated combat models, scenario development and analysis objectives.

Prerequisite

Basic probability, statistics and Data Analysis - OS2103, OS3604 or equivalent, and a working knowledge of a computer programming language
