MN3319 Spend Analysis

This course introduces students to concepts, procedures and tools which are foundational to the enterprise-level analysis of defense procurement data. Students will understand data sources commonly used to inform category management decisions in the Department of Defense, along with formats for data interchange and key practices in the collection, storage, exchange and processing of defense spend data. Students will gain hands-on experience in performing descriptive and predictive analyses using a variety of tools, including spreadsheets, statistical suites, online analytics processing engines and data visualization software. Students will also be exposed to advanced methods for spend analysis, such as machine learning and simulation, and their applications. After completion of the course, students will be able to create and evaluate spend analyses and will understand how spend data and data-based products integrate into category management decisions.

GB3040, Managerial Statistics, or by permission of course coordinator
