GB4556 Data Analytics for Financial and Resource Managers

This is an executive level course in using and evaluating data and models to answer a variety of defense resource management questions. Participants will learn to select data models and analytical techniques based on the type of question they are trying to answer or inform.  The course will introduce different modelling techniques used to predict outcomes, understand systems, prescribe policy changes, and measure the impact of resource management decisions. Participants will become aware of challenges in the development of data analytics and understand the assumptions and pitfalls associated with different analysis tools. Course participants will also become better communicators of the results of analysis to senior decision makers through learning to scrutinize and summarize analysis and to use appropriate visualization tools and techniques.
